I hope you two know how happy we all are to see you find someone to share your lives with, and how lucky you are to have your family doubled by such genuinely sweet people. I also hope you know how lucky *we* feel to have friends like you. Friends who let you steal food from their wedding are true friends indeed. May these memories continue to make you two smile as much as we did those past two days.

One of the biggest blessings about being a photographer is getting to see moments like this. Cue the tears, because I couldn’t even stop my own.

This was when we all realized Saud’s sister Shireen is the best wedding shehnai singer ever.

When I walked into this party I thought two things: “Oh my goodness, this is so cool,” and “I hope my future kids will be happy with Chuck-E-Cheese because I could never pull this off.” But after really paying attention to all the little details I realized Imani’s mom Sharmeen is not only a creative GENIUS for thinking up this theme, but also for executing all the details by hand! Everything from the beautiful cupcake-liner flowers, to the bejeweled paper chandeliers and clocks suspended from the ceiling are totally DIY. ::Mind blown:: Oh and see that beautiful Mad Hatter-inspired cake? It was created by both Imani’s mom and Aunt, who just happen to be the fabulous cake artists/pastry chefs behind Saffron Cakes.

The girls were treated to lady-like white gloves for favors…

… while the little boys got these:

DIY puppet show, written specifically for Imani…and her cupcakes!

Imani summed up the party perfectly at the end of the afternoon when she walked up to her mommy and said, “Thank you mommy, this is the best birthday ever.”

Ruhina and Tim; Atlanta

Ruhina and Tim met while studying at the Art Institute of Atlanta and created the perfect balance of savory and sweet…both in and out of the kitchen! Since Ruhina is a pastry chef and owner of the amazing Saffron Cakes, and Tim is a chef for Table 1280 in Midtown, the foodie in me was absolutely stoked for this session. I loved the unique spin they took by deciding to take photos that truly told their love story. I’ll save all the sappiness for their wedding post next year and let you guys enjoy the photos instead.

For some reason I’m surrounded by a slew of uber creative and talented people. Need evidence? See photos below of Aya’s first birthday. Think you need a party planner to achieve such awesomeness? Nope. Every last detail came from the creative mind of Aya’s mommy Palwasha. From the homemade cupcakes to the goldfish favors for the kiddos, this was all done by her and her team of family/friends. And yes, that ridiculously cool centerpiece is an Elmo holding a bouquet..made of freaking balloons. So kudos to you, Palwasha for making every other party ever thrown look lame. This was totally Street…Sesame Street.

Andrea and Alan, Lullwater Park

One of the first things Andrea and Alan told me was that they weren’t like the usual “cutesy” couples they’ve seen in engagement photos. But you know something? You guys are cute, hilarious, laid back, and so perfectly made for each other…and you can’t hide it! I have pictures to prove it:

I absolutely adore how your love spontaneously shines through your goofiness and giggles. If Sunday was any indication of how freaking fun your wedding will be, I can NOT wait! :)

Suzanne and Chris, Midtown Atlanta

Last week I met up with Suzanne and Chris for an engagement session at Georgia Tech. Since Tech is my alma mater as well, I was SO excited when Suzanne told me she wanted to take their photos on campus. We started off around Tech Tower, then walked around campus a bit before heading over to Midtown right before sunset.
